After a decade of growing this event and on the heels of the successful and delightful 10th anniversary last year, we admit to having been being a bit stumped about how to follow up in Vancouver, 2010. Thoughts of what attracted me to tap dance and the inspiration to put on shoes and take some lessons seemed to surface. It was tap in the movies and tap on Broadway that caught me, hook, line and sinker. And so, this year we will feature some of the most glorious moments in tap dance. For example, we are proud to announce that the legendary Cromer of the major cities where he has shared his spectacular “Opus One”. As well: two of the highlights from our festival five years ago: the eagerly awaited return of tap star once again be hosting our amazing dinner cruise. Our VTDS presentations continue to reach out and expand as we offer tap to Gabriola Island, the Isle of the Arts, two days before our festival begins. And in November, we will copresent - with Centennial Theatre, Soundz support and the inspiration that moves us forward each year to shape a program that everyone in our tap community will want to be part of.
