The Butchart Gardens has been designed to please the eye and generally delight the senses.  It could be the pale green of emerging leaves in spring, complimented by brilliant pink or white flowers of trees; the dazzling bedding plants framed in by sweeping lawns, with the treat to the nose of a waft of a thousand scents of summer; the russets and golds of fall leaves encouraged by the more crisp air of fall and enhanced by the shifting colour of sunlight; or the pleasures of the Magic of Christmas where the background shrubs and trees of summer stand more prominently, adding solemn dignity to the gaiety of Christmas lights and decorations, the Twelve Days of Christmas displays, and the happy sounds of ice skaters.
